SCOUTCON 2008

The Land of the Giants cast recently attended a fabulous new event called ScoutCon which was held on Saturday 24th May 2008 in Tampa, Florida. Attendees included: Gary Conway, Don Marshall, Deanna Lund, Don Matheson, Heather Young, as well as Don and Deanna's daughter Michele Matheson, Mark Goddard from Lost in Space, Malachi Throne (guest in several Irwin Allen productions), Barbara Luna (Five Weeks in a Balloon), Gary Lockwood and Keir Dullea (stars of 2001: A Space Odyssey), Gil Gerard and Erin Grey (Buck Rogers), and Grace Lee Whitney and Sean Kenny (Star Trek).

Moebius Models are currently producing some fantastic new Irwin Allen models, and arriving in mid-June 2008 will be their new 1/24th scale model kit of the Lost in Space® Space Pod which includes an opening door. Visit the Lost in Space Collectibles page for more on the new Moebius Models.

RICHARD WIDMARK

We were very sad to learn today (26th March 2008) that veteran actor Richard Widmark has passed away, aged 93. For Irwin Allen fans he is probably best known for his role of General Slater in The Swarm.

LIVE AUCTION - LOST IN SPACE MOVIE ROBOT

A live auction was held on Sunday 16th March 2008 for the Lost in Space Movie Robot which was the grand prize of MTV's "Lost in Space" Sweepstakes held in early April 1998. The auction closed at $20,000.

NOW SHOWING

Lost In Space, Time Tunnel, and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea are being broadcast in the USA on American Life TV Network on Thursday evenings (Sci-Fi Thursday) 8pm to 11pm EDT. Land of the Giants is being broadcast at 12am. The American Life TV Network web site is running trailers for each.

LAMAR LUNDY 1935-2007

Lamar Lundy (Cyclops in Lost in Space) passed away on 24th February 2007. Best known as a fine athlete (American football), Irwin Allen fans knew him as the Cyclops in the original pilot of Lost in Space, No Place to Hide.
